Clinical Asst Professor Dr Jimmy Lee
Dr Jimmy Lee is an Emergency Physician based in Singapore, with extensive experience in critical care transport and aeromedical medicine.
Clinical Asst Professor Jimmy Chan Yu Lee is the Head and Senior Consultant of the Emergency Department at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, under the National University Health System, Singapore.
He holds an MBBS (Singapore), MRCS (A&E), and is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (Emergency Medicine). His formal qualifications in aviation medicine include a Diploma in Aviation Medicine (UK) and a Master of Science in Aerospace Medicine (King’s College London).
Dr Lee has a strong interest in aviation and aerospace medicine, with subspecialty expertise in disaster medicine, mass gatherings, and event medicine. He is currently the Chief Medical Officer for the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix, overseeing medical operations for one of the region’s most complex international events.
He has been actively involved in the transfer of critically ill patients across both regional and international settings, managing complex cases in time-sensitive and resource-constrained environments. His aeromedical experience includes operations across multiple aircraft platforms, including Learjet 35/45/60/XR, Gulfstream G150, and Westwind aircraft.
Dr Lee holds formal qualifications in aviation medicine, including a Diploma in Aviation Medicine (UK) and a Master’s degree in Aerospace Medicine, reflecting his specialised expertise in the clinical and physiological challenges associated with patient care in flight.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Lee contributes to education and training in critical care transport and aeromedical operations, equipping healthcare professionals with practical, real-world knowledge and decision-making frameworks.
His teaching approach is centred on clinical application, operational awareness, and case-based learning, with a focus on managing high-risk patients during transport.
