Transporting critically ill patients is significantly more complex than routine hospital care. Healthcare professionals involved in aeromedical transport must understand not only advanced critical care medicine but also aviation physiology, aircraft limitations, operational planning, human factors, communication, and risk management.
The AACCT Programme provides participants with practical knowledge on planning, preparing, stabilising, transporting and handing over critically ill patients while maintaining continuity of care throughout the mission.
Participants will gain insight into both domestic and international patient transfers, commercial medical escorts, fixed-wing air ambulance operations, airport procedures and multidisciplinary teamwork.
